APRIL 2010 MEMBERS NEWSLETTER
Hi to all,
It was great to see so many of you at the AGM this year but for those of you who didn’t manage to get there, there were only a few changes. Your Management Committee now sees Julian Tilbury as Chairman with Dave Hinbest taking on the role of Vice-Chairman and the addition of Kath Spillett, Martin and Mandy Thwaites to swell our ranks. Your Social Club Chairman and Vice-Chairman remain as Peter King an John Beattie respectively, with the addition of Kath Spillett, Pete Holmes and Martin & Mandy Thwaites to assist them in their endeavours. Your Entertainments/Fundraising Team remains unchanged except for the addition of Kath Spillett, Mandy Thwaites and Carrie-Anne Jackson.
We have some great events coming up for you, the first of which will be the Family Disco on Saturday 17th July. Ticket prices will be £4 p.p. for members and £6 p.p. for non members and finger food is included in the price. Please do feel free to tell your friends and relatives as obviously, as far as we’re concerned, the more the merrier. Our DJ for the night is Ray Steele who provided your New Years Eve entertainment last year, so you all know how good he is, with the usual games provided for those who wish to take part.
We have loads more to tell you all, including changes to the Annual Dinner Dance and a big Summer Family Fun Day planned but space restrictions mean that more news will have to wait a couple of weeks until your next newsletter. Oh, please also remember to look out for us in WDC’s free magazine ‘Community Voice’ as we should be appearing in there from now on, on a regular basis.
I know you are busy people but if anyone can spare us half an hour now and then, to drop a flyer about any of our events through your neighbours’ doors, that would really help us out a lot. So, if you can help us in this small way, please come and have a word with one of us. You wouldn’t be committing yourselves to anything long-term and it would be a great help to your Community Centre.
Best wishes until next time.
Kim Waller and your Entertainments/Fundraising Team
